Feed Storage Leachate and Runoff Control
Silage is an important feedstock for animals. However leachate (excess moisture from silage) and runoff can impact surface and ground water. Increasingly farm operations are identified as sources for water quality impacts resulting from farm runoff. The impact can be reduced with proper siting, management, handling, and disposal of the leachate and collected runoff created by silage and other feedstocks.
Using the latest NRCS Conservation Practices and DNR guidelines REA has considerable experience in planning and designing of Feed Storage Leachate and Runoff Control systems for new and existing feed storages to capture leachate and runoff before it can become a regulatory issue.
At REA, our professional experience and knowledge is firmly based on the ability to address the evolving changes in design and regulation involving water resource management practices in agricultural land management.
